Tuesday Play Days P.O.D
Get Ready to Play:
Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tee time. To cancel, call the Pro Shop, 876-3023 and one of your foursome so they know you are not playing. If you are out of town, call a friend to help!
See details below for Tee Times and Handicap.
Get Ready to Compete:
WEEKLY COMPETITION (Play of Day-POD)
A fee of $1 is paid by each player with their green fee. New members pay $1.00 sweeps but are not eligible for sweeps (formally call certs) until they have an established handicap. See POD procedure below for more details.
TEE TIMES
Tee times are posted on the bulletin board by Tuesday, one week prior to play. Make all changes or cancellations through the pro shop once the schedule is posted. Remember to call one of your foursome and the Pairing Chair if you are unable to golf.
It is your responsibility to note your time for the following week’s play and the names of your foursome. Sign up on the clipboard for play two weeks ahead. Ask someone to help you check tee times on the web.
HANDICAPS
USGA computes our handicaps and indexes on the 1st of the month. The handicap sheet is used for the entire month and for outside tournaments. Always check your new handicap on the first Tuesday of the month
Starter Computer
HOLE BY HOLE - Enter each score for each hole into the computer. The GHIN program will adjust your score automatically. We no longer use “equitable score.”
You may be surprised to see that your total score is better than you thought. Ask for help if you have never done this before.
USGA GHIN App
HOLE BY HOLE - Enter each score for each hole into the App.
WEEKLY COMPETITION (Play of Day-POD)
A fee of $1 is paid by each player along their green fees. New members pay $1.00 sweeps but are not eligible for sweeps (formally call certs) until they have an established handicap.
Keep two score cards which includes full name, rec card number and handicap for each player in your foursome.
Upon completion of play, compare your two score cards. Check for accuracy of your gross score and POD score. Then sign one card. Each golfer is responsible for the accuracy of her gross score, her correct HDCP, and the play of the day (POD) score. Enter the names and scores on the POD sheet for all in your group.
Place one signed card in the scorecard envelope. Use the second card to enter scores HOLE BY HOLE into the computer for your group. See below.
Player(s) can be disqualified for the following:
1) Not signing score card
2) Not turning the card in
3) Error in addition or subtraction
4) Entering the wrong handicap
